Ethos SERIES
Ethos explores the idea of life as layers. The repetitive process of applying and polishing lacquer is set alongside the way individual beings emerge, grow, and multiply. The layers that build from core to structure, and ultimately to the outer surface, evoke forms of life, the body, and humanity as a collective. Through the techniques of lacquer, the individuality, culture, and vitality of human life emerge on the surface.
《Ethos》は、「層としての生命」を捉えた作品である。漆を塗り、研ぐといった反復プロセスを、個々の存在が生まれ、育ち、増えていく生命のあり方に重ねている。核から構造、そして表層へと重なる層の中に、生命や身体、人間という集合体の姿を見る。人間の個性と、その文化や生命力は、漆芸の技法を通して表皮に現れる。
